In case you didn't know it I have a little problem. I buy dishes. There. Now you all know. I don't have any problem with other people using paper plates to entertain, but it just isn't my style. I enjoy getting out different dishes and planning themes as much as I do actually getting to talk to my friends. 
This is my wedding china. Remember the dusty blue and mauve of the 80's?
I love my yellow dishes. They are huge and chunky. This is the bowls for stews and soups. I bought 16 of the square salad plates so I can use them for smaller luncheons.
My Christmas china. I also have a set of the twelve reindeer plates.
Dishes in my curio cabinet. The floral ones were from my husband's grandmother.

Magnolia plates made in Waterloo, Mississippi. Magnolias are the state flower of Mississippi, which is where my parents, my husband's mom, and I are from.
White dishes are so versitile. I love that you can just change table linens and have completely different looks.
My italian dishes. My walls in Florida were this yellow color. They were plastered and glazed to look like an italian home. I accented with a cranberry and green so these dishes looked great in my glass front cabinets.
Then, I have glass plates for luncheons and parties. I stick everything in the dishwasher. You do not have to spend a lot to gather dishes- just room to store them. I see dishes at garage sales all the time. I look for theme table accessories so I can decorate the table and room. I have Chinese pots and bowls I got at the $1 store. I have coconut bowls and statue like monkies with hula skirts for a hawaiian table. You can pick up Mexican sombraros or a blanket to set a Mexican table. It is also cool to use new mini pots to put salsa and condiments in. I also like to pick up platters and bowls that will mix in with what I have.
