Each week in the Sunday paper there is a coupon in the Publix ad for a mystery item that is $.01 with a $10 purchase. I made a purchase of $10.00 so that I could get the item which was the crackers this week. It is something different each week and I have gotten peanut butter, tissues, a bag of jelly worms, salad dressing, hot chocolate, and other items. The coupon is only good for Sunday and Monday so I am trying to start making a Sunday stop while I am at church near the store.

Publix movies

I have mentioned the $5 off coupon in the Green Advantage Buy flyer found in the front of the store. You can use it on any movie made by Disney and some others that are listed on the coupon. Wall-E was $19.99 and had a peelie for a free Publix shopping bag. I paid for a $.99 shopping bag and when they rang in the peelie coupon it took off $3. The cashier was excited and said something about how great that it took off more than the price of the bag. So I got the movie and the bag for $13.

They had other movies, but were out of their advertised Batman and she told me they would not get anymore in- that it was a special promotion and they only received a limited supply. They did not have Prince Caspian last week. So, you can use the coupon on some of the other movies they do have. If they run another movie next week I guess we need to go at store opening to get one. I am going to take the add to Walmart to price match if they have it in stock. I won't be able to use the $5 coupon but will get the sale price.

The cinnamon rolls are HUGE. I bought them as a treat. Thought we might enjoy them during Thanksgiving weekend.

I also bought coffee, and the lasagna noodles without a coupon (gasp) because I need to stock coffee and it has really gone up and I always make lasagna during the holidays.

Kraft Mac and cheese for $.50 is the lowest price now. At Walmart, when they put the spiral shape on sale for $.50 , but Publix had that one in their sale so I am stocking up. My daughter likes the spirals the best and I always tell her, "No."

I am going to use the sausage making the breakfast casserole (I never made the other day since eggs were not still on sale) and also make up egg and sausage for burritos. I am not going to prefill the burritos because I do not like the texture when heated. I am going to make individual portions of the egg and sausage mixture and make the burritos the morning we want to eat them. Do not cook the egg all the way. Get it just almost done so it doesn't dry out and become rubbery. I have 11 more Jimmy Dean coupons!

Publix deals 11/12- 11/18

Remember that you do not have to buy two of the BOGO(buy one get one free) items to get the price. My store rings up the items at 1/2 price each. You can use manufacturer coupons for each of the BOGO items. If you have a Publix or another "store" coupon you can combine that with a manufacturer coupon . Not all stores double coupons and not all stores will accept competitor coupons. I use coupons from Kroger that are for $5 off your $45 order that they mailed me. I also have some that Rite Aid offered for $5 off $25 that I have used. These prices are for the Southeast region. I changed a few of the prices from the list I copied this from at Southern Savers. In my region a few items are cheaper, like milk. I also deleted some sale items from the site because I didn't feel they were a good deal or the coupon to print has reached its limit and you would not be able to print and use it.

Tip: Cake mixes are a really cheap snack item. I keep mixes on hand. My kids love to make them. We usually make cupcakes and they eat them without frosting. I try to put them in the oven when supper is baking so we don't have to use any more electricity baking them on their own. If you have extra freeze in ziplock bags. When you want a treat, either leave out overnight to thaw or heat in microwave to defrost.
