A preview of the foyer/game room/ and daughter's room

Do you notice anything missing???? Something that has been in my foyer for few months. It is large and black and weighs over 300 lbs. NOT ME YOU MEANY! The vanity. It is not in the bathroom yet (still have flooring to put down) but it is upstairs at the foot of my bed. Much better than when you walk into our house. We just got it moved so I have not accessorized this room but here it is without the vanity. If you have not been reading my blog (shame on you!) we decided to do away with our dining room and put the furniture in the foyer. I moved my daughter from the front living room to the old dining room and we are making the front living room a boyfriend/girlfriend room. I mean extra movie watchin, video playin room.

This is the new game room. I love this antique piano. It was made in the 1900's. I had to also put my curio cabinet in here. It was hard to figure out but I finally decided to put it on an angle. The sectional will be on the opposite wall from the piano. We are getting a flat screen to go above the piano. We walled up the opening between the old living and dining rooms. It is great because both rooms now have extra wall space. We put the wood floors down like it was open so if we ever want it open again all we have to do is knock down that wall and frame it up again. It is all going to be tight but much better use of space. It will give the kids a place to watch movies or play video games - especially when we have adults that we are entertaining at the same time.

Cleaner than my room was when I was a teen, but this is after I told her to clean up. Don't see a lot of difference. Still have not accessorized. Curtains aren't anything but torn strips clipped at the moment. That is on my to do list- sew curtains, I mean mistreat the windows.

Painted ceiling and new wall

We bought paint from the Oops! section at Lowes to paint the ceiling in daughter's room and the new media room. It is a light grayish white color. It is only $3.00 a gallon if you can find something you can use. The crown moldings in these two rooms are almost a foot in depth so I wanted them to stand out more. The ceilings were painted the same white so it made them look less substantial. Hubbie walled up the opening between the two rooms and is finishing the drywall. See how that wall has chair molding? It would be hard to match and make it look right so I am thinking of alternatives. This side is my daughter's room. I have a couple of ideas. First idea: to paint the wall in that section another color and with ribbon and upholstery tacks make a huge memo board with crisscrossed ribbons. Second idea: take the memo cork board pieces and cover them in different fabrics and some with the ribbon some with sewn pockets and make a huge bullitin board area. Problem is finding a lot of fabric in her colors and the cost of fabric. I have a 3rd idea also: Painting that area with a funky mod circle pattern that I saw in a magazine.
