Before I had to give up my dining room, this was my inspiration of the look I was going to do in our dining room. I just thought I would share it with you so you can all sit a moment and cry for what could have been. I am much happier that we don't have a "dining room" but now have room for the kids and their friends. I still have dining area in the foyer. I am getting to decorate the kids game/media room. I just kind of felt that this was mostly all mine that I just shared with them. I could make it as girly as I wanted.
Our dining room in Florida was painted red. The kitchen was a Tuscany yellow. Both the rooms had wallpaper that tore the sheetrock to pieces when we took it down. I used drywall mud and applied it pulling it with a trowel. It left a plastered wall that took the paint and glaze and I loved the European look. I made a covered board valance in a cranberry red, yellow, and green plaid. I covered the chairs in a green striped fabric. All the accents are in the yellow and green. So, the dining room above was using those same colors. Oh well, I guess it is time to say good-bye to the dream. I will miss intimate candlelight dinners under your chandalier. I will have my daughter bring in fresh baked bread and special treats once in a while so you don't forget your roots.
