Our newest family member

For those who have not been with me from the beginning we used to have a Yorkie.Jack was not a good fit in our home because he liked blood. He could not handle anyone coming in, and with a busy home with five kids that can be a problem. He bit numerous people and would not potty train. We just spent a lot of money replacing all the carpet and laying hardwood floors. Having to watch a dog like a one year old was exhausting. He was very active and NEVER stopped moving. Luckily, we found him a new home and promised to get the kids a new dog. It has been since March and we have slowly waited.

Last week there was a black Cocker Spaniel listed on Craigslist. The owner's son has just been diagnosed with autism and for some reason the dog really bothered him. So, we now have a new member. It is amazing the difference in the dogs. This one came with the name Mac(Arthur), we aren't sure if we are going to rename him. For some reason Bear seems to fit- and we are Alabama fans so it would be named after Bear Bryant, but that was one of the first comments is that he looked like a bear. He is really docile. He loves to play ball but knows when to quit! He lays around a lot more and will get in his crate when he is tired. You can take him outside and he stays right in your yard. Do you know how many times we chased the old dog trying to get him? When I wake up at 3:00 he doesn't bark and want out of the crate. He just waits till you are ready to take him out. I am really happy with him and he seems to fit so well.

He is so cute. I would love to have an inside dog because our Lucy just doesn't get enough attention outside. But then you have to fight the dog hair.

Very sweet! I love how cocker spaniels lay with their hind legs splayed out like that.
