Christmas table

The day after Thanksgiving I like to get out our Christmas dishes. We try each night to sit down, light the candle, and enjoy a little time eating together. The kids love to light the candles and it seems to cause us to step back from busyness and relax a moment. We even put McDonald's meals on the dishes on nights when it is too busy to even cook. I put a candle in the middle of a wreath for the centerpiece. It is sitting on a white runner.
I hung three topiary balls from the chandelier.

I love the country look of the dishes with the red gingham napkins.

I have a set of reindeer plates. They are so cute.

This is my China. I have had it for many years. We use goblets even when the kids were two years old. They break and you buy more. I look for anything red at garage sales and now have an eclectic mix of goblets.

Christmas Banquet Tables

For Tablescape Thursday I thought I would share some of the tables that are set up for a ladies banquet tonight. Be sure and come back tomorrow for more tables, only half were done when I was at the church.

Outdoor dining

Monday night the kids and I decided to eat outside. The weather was 75 degrees and we thought we would take advantage of the daylight savings time and enjoy the mild evening. They had a lot of fun setting the table before Daddy came home. Except for the fact that my husband tied the dog to the basketball goal and he barked everytime someone walked by our house, it was a very pleasant supper.

I grilled pork chops with Dales sauce ( a southern soy based marinade sauce) and we had rice and green beans.

These are not good plates to diet with. They are HUGE!

I bought this platter in Playa Del Carma, Mexico.

I bought this candelabra at Walmart the other day. It was on clearance for $5. I love the green and orange. It is citronella candles.

Well, hope you enjoyed our al fresca meal. For more tablescapes visit Between Naps on a Porch.
