You can use lite color/taste olive oil and liquid smoke (just a couple of drops) instead of bacon greese. I too grew up seasoning with it but due to cholesterol I had to find a GOOD replacement. My aunt from out in the sticks tried it and was amazed that she could not tell the differance and she was an excellent cook.
