I need a casual dress

I do not want to check baggage on my trip to California. I am planning on taking a casual dress, a pair of shorts and top, a pair of pants and a top, 2 pair exercise pants and 2 exercise tops that will double as pjs (wash out and let dry each day), a bathing suit, possibly a cover up, tennis shoes, wedge sandals, and a cardigan. I will be gone 7 days plus two traveling days= 9 days total. I will wear dress, pants set, short set each three times. I will wash them after the 2nd wearing of each while in the hotel. The exercise things I will wash each day in the sink and hang dry.

I need a good casual dress that will wear and pack well. I will probably wear it on the plane. These are some of my choices. I want to go shopping, but if I don't find something I am looking at ordering one of these dresses.
This shape above looks good on me. It is a faux wrap so you don't have to worry about flashing people when you are running through the airport or when you are walking along the boardwalk with the wind whipping through your hair.

I don't know what it is about this one. I love it with a cardigan, which I do not have at the moment. So, that is another problem, finding a cute cardigan.
I love the neckline of this one, but I would also be putting a cardigan with it. It is cool in California, highs at 75 with cold nights. This one is also a jersey fabric and I could wad it up and still look good. This comes in a pink and blue also, but I like the brown.

I love the preppiness of this one. The neckline is not as flattering on me. Definitely would not wear this without a cardigan. But, I just love madras plaid, so it is on the list.

After all the others this one is my least favorite. It is a little dressier, but would work.

So, any opinions? Be nice, I am a fragile fat girl. I am having to work with what I have and not able to go with what I love in fashion.

I really like the red one (first one). It is a great dress. Hope all is going well. I probably missed it, but why are you going to California? Sounds like a fun trip! Blessings!!!

The first one, definitely. You can dress it up with with some chunky jewelry and some strappy heels or dress it down with a cute jean jacket and simple sandals. Lots of opportunities with this one!

I like the last one (would hide a tummy) where did you find it?

Anonymous- the last one is from Old Navy. The plus sizes are available only online.

Love the red and the brown, but the red is my fave:)

I probably would avoid the first one, as it looks like it would wrinkle easily, but what do I know?

I would go with the second or third. That way you could wear it without a cardigan when it's really hot, and then wear it in the winter time with a cardigan tossed over it.

Wish you were coming a little further. OMGosh, wouldn't we have fun together!

I like the first one as well. Nice detail with the bow and it has short sleeves so you won't feel you have to wear a cardigan. I would just make sure the material travels well.

have a fun trip.

cheers,
Blueberry

Why do you think the last one is too dressy? With the right little sandal, it would be really cute and casual. I do like the red one, too. Looks like a great dress that will be dressy or casual. Have a great time on your trip!!

Brandi- I don't know if dressy is the right word for what I meant, I think I just don't like the style as much.

I tried on the brown one that was done in my favorite color green- it was a Jones New York and I really liked how it fit, the neckline is really flattering on me. I am scared to order after trying and wearing 3 different sizes at different stores.
