The start of the garden of 2009

It's not finished but I couldn't wait. We worked all day in the yard. My husband tilled the area behind me in the photo and also the area to the left of the two raised beds. They will be two more beds that we still have to make.
I planted the 7 rectangular pots in the background with onions. The two in the foreground are two different lettuces, and the round pots are flower seeds.

I planted 4 broccoli plants in the left bed and then put onions between them until the broccoli grows too big. I will just pull the onion early when it is crowded and have small onions. I have carrots in 3 squares in the right bed and two collard green plants. In the pots are 5 broccoli and 2 collards. I also planted 3 broccoli plants in the front flower bed.

This is from the street looking towards the back of our property. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I planted over 100 corn seeds in the bed to the right. When it comes up I will plant green beans at the base of the corn stalks and let the beans run up the corn.

After tilling and planting we had the kids gather sticks and started a fire in our firepit. They roasted marshmallows.

Some burned the marshmallows crispy.

This is our neighbor kid.

Summer of 69 Thrift Store Refashion Frock GIVEAWAY!!!!
Oh my goodness! She has done it again. Remember the black "anthropology" sweater she copied for like $6? Well, now she has taken a moo-moo from the trift store for $2.99 and sewn the sides and added a zipper and a belt and made a CUTE retro dress. You have got to see it- go now. I wish I was skinny because I would need the moo-moo. If you are skinny (26 inch waist) you can enter to win it.

Panama City sunset

This is off the balcony of the condo. He is on the bay. There is a channel straight out from the condo out to the Gulf- you can actually see it in the last photo, there is a break between the two strips of land and the boat is heading for it. Shell Island is also straight out. There are dinner cruises to Shell Island. All that is there is the strip of island and they let you get off and get shells and sand dollars.

Panama City, Florida

This is at my dad's condo in Panama City. It is in the 70's today, but the water is still cold. Can't stop my kids.

Bienville Square in Mobile, Alabama

Bienville Square is a park in the middle of downtown Mobile. It has a big center fountain. There are billions of squirrels that will eat out of your hand.

There were still Mardi Gras beads in the trees around the park. It is on the parade route so they still had the barricades along the streets.

Fort Conde in Mobile, Alabama

Fort Conde was a fort built by the French to defend Mobile from British or Spanish attack. It is a replica of the original fort and this one is built to 4/5 scale. It sits atop the tunnel as you can see in the second photo.

My MIL worked in the building behind the kids in this photo.
