Kitchen Tip Tuesday

I use coffee filters instead of a plate or paper towel to serve snacks to the kids. They are the perfect size and flatten out into a round shape easily. I picked up a huge unopened bag of coffee filters at a garage sale for $1. I think it was 600 or something like that. Since my husband is the only one that drinks coffee it would take I guess two years to use them as just coffee filters.

I also put the filter plus coffee grounds in an old coffee can to take to the compost bin. I just throw it all in. If it is the time I am taking it out I also take the leftover coffee from the pot. If you are storing the can don't add the liquid unless you want moldy compost.

They also work well to dry your hands in a pinch. Don't ask how I know. :)

I thought I was the only one who did this. I find coffee filters very cheap and I use them to serve snacks to my boys as well. They are so much easier and cheaper to use then paper plates.
