Fireproof Movie

Our church worked out a special showing of Fireproof on Saturday. Our church filled the theatre. It was a really good movie and you all need to spend the money to go out and see it. It is by the same church that produced Facing the Giants. We need to keep supporting them so that more and more of these high moral movies will be made. It is so nice not to have to worry about people cussing or undressing or living an unethical life.

Kirk Cameron plays the main character and he would not kiss the woman that played his wife in the movie. They put his wife in her place for the kissy scene as a double. Is that not so cool? Wow, it is hard to imagine the cocky Growing Pains star all grown up and totally sold out for Jesus! I think Candace, his sister that played on Full House, is also a Christian.

They really did a good job with the movie and stepped up the acting ability from Facing the Giants. I love Facing the Giants but did have to ignore the accents and "acting" some. And, that is a southerner saying I had to ignore the accents.

It reminds me of a Christmas play we went to see a few years ago. Our church really stressed to speak without a southern accent so we went to one at another church and everyone spoke with a really really strong accent. It was like: Heeeey Jeeeesus, can you perfoarm a meeericle for meee? We were cracking up.

Anyway, break open the change jar and go out for a nice date with the one you love. Check the Alabama football schedule first, because we had to rush home to see Alabama stomp all over Georgia. Outside the theatre the swing dancing group in town was doing a demonstration and there was a full band playing. I walked by as fast as I could because my husband started talking about dancing and we had our WHOLE church there. I would die.

I just heard an audio interview with Kirk Cameron on the movie. It was a great interview. He said that he COULD NOT AND WOULD NOT Kiss another woman. I thought that was AWESOME!

I would like to see the movie.

Also, Candace Cameron was in our early this year - I met her and purchased a few things that she autographed. My sister actually picked Candace up from the airport. I didn't actually know she was going to until we were at the event. I COULD HAVE SMACKED THAT SIS OF MINE - JEANETTE @ rcrazykids.blogspot.com! Anyway, yes Candace is also a Christian.

Just saw this movie on Friday. I was flabber-gasted by how strong of a Christian message was presented. I liked it a lot. I agree that this is something to support.

I had such a crush on Kirk Cameron during his "Growing Pains" years, and I'm so glad he has matured into such a strong family man with Christian values. It makes me feel validated in my judgments as a teen! :)

You asked me about my camera and photo editing. I got a Sony SLR in the spring, and I can get some great pictures in natural light with it. I usually use the auto setting, or the no-flash setting. I am still learning about the camera, so my indoor and nighttime shots still don't come out well. But I feel like a pro in natural light!

As far as editing my photos, I downloaded Picasa free from Google. Even if you have this program already, it is worth downloading the latest version, Picasa 3. It is still free, but offers greater options for making collages, and you can touch-up photos and add text. It is a lot of fun, but very user-friendly. I hope these ideas help!

I was just reading something about this movie!
The kissing thing is neat...I am old fashioned and think that the world has attempted to take away the significance of a kiss!

I just got back from watching Fireproof... it was great to see such a different-flavored movie on the regular, big screen
