We came home on Saturday and I was really surprised with a birthday party. When we walked in I saw a cake and didn't think much of it because my mother in law always gets a cake for any celebration that is within that month. I just figured that we were having cake. Then, people began to show up. We didn't get photos of many of the guests but here are the couple that were taken. My dad and step mother drove from Atlanta which was a really big surprise, then turned around and left at 10 to drive back 4 hours. Another big surprise was that I walked out of another room and saw someone I knew standing there. My daughter asked if I knew who it was and I was doing the scramble trying to place her. It was Valerie. We met through blogging and knew we lived about 30 minutes apart. My daughter has heard me talk about her and her kids and contacted her and invited her over. I am so glad she came and I was able to meet her in person. She is really sweet and just as cute. She said it was like going on a blind date. I didn't kiss her goodnight. My husband had to hold his mom back from the all black 40th birthday theme. He suggested the pink and green. My birthday is really on the 11th but a bigger surprise to come home looking weary and after standing on the dock and in customs for over two hours. Man, he took a big chance that I wouldn't kill him. I usually like to plan for surprises! Golly!

Happy, happy birthday... a little early!!! (Our 18th wedding anniversary is on 8/11!)
Okay... I'm a little jealous that you got to meet Valarie for REAL. Sigh. Will all my new AL blogging friends come to TX in Jan. for my birthday??? ;-)
I was so happy to be there for your surprise :)
I have been such a slacker and have not gotten my photo up yet. I was actually just about to do that.
You have awonderful family, they made me feel so welcome! :)
How Wonderful! Happy Birthday Girl!
Oh, I would have loved to be there. I just had my 35th b'day on July 28th and our 14th anniversary will be Aug. 13th. Maybe we can hook up when I'm in Huntsville.

Off to go "meet" Valerie.
Happy Birthday!
I came over from Valarie's blog and wanted to meet you. She said so many good things that I figured they couldn't possibly be true and after carefully exploring your site -- they were ALL TRUE! You totally do rock!
I love that you didn't do the black and white theme. Your honey did very well!
Blessings!

You sound so much like a storm chaser! You would probably go for that since you like hurricanes.
So glad you received the book and dvd - Wow - school starts for you already!!! We still have a week 1/2.
You in a grocery bag - how funny! I am not exactly sure why Ryan decided to get inside of his pillowcase, bit I am relieved I didn't have to cut him out of that too!
Happy Birthday...what a great surprise....
That's neat you got to meet Valarie
Happy early birthday....Thank you for the nice comments about my cabinets. I do want to put glass doors in two of them. Just thought it would cost a lot. I would love to see a picture of yours! Susie h~
