Reversible Top and Bloomers

I finished the outfit for my niece's daughter (great-niece?) yesterday. I had been waiting on measurements of her thigh and waist so I could put in the elastic. I am mailing it off for her 2nd birthday. It is a reversible top and bloomers. This is a simple outfit to make. It only took about an hour of sewing time.

Reverse side of the same top. This was my first time to use my newest sewing machine that I bought about a year ago. It is a computerized Brother machine. I paid $15 at a garage sale. It was still wrapped and had not been used. I googled and it sold at Sams for $200.00. I found a refurbished one for $159.00, so I am happy with the bargain I got. I still want an embroidery machine, but this one does have a lot of programmed stitches in it.

I love it. My sewing is so poor. An hour for you would probably be 2 for me or more. I have so many problems sewing. I just keep practicing and one day maybe I will get better. Did you use a pattern for that outfit? I would love to know what it is.

Wow. $15? Awesome deal. Love the romper set. So sweet! It takes you one hour. I'd still be doing it, but then I don't sew.

Tami- the pattern I used is one I picked up at a church sale for $.05. I bought it more for the cover thinking I would frame some vintage patterns for my sewing nook. I then bought all that fabric from a friend and wanted to use it and decided to make the pattern. It is an old Simplicity, but I think they still make this because I have seen a lot of online crafters making this style. You can sew, you are so creative and crafty. Just do some easy ones like this. My home ec teacher told me in front of the whole class that she was surprised my gravy came out- I didn't learn to sew by her and wouldn't sew because of her for many years. I decided I wanted to make bunnies back in 1988 and got a machine. My first clothing item I made was a smocked bishop (I took a class on smocking) I wish I could tell that lady how much she discouraged and almost ruined me. Words are a sword, and I want you to know you can do it.
