Sams Club

This is not my cart, but I was full on top and bottom today.

With the arrival of baseball and the need to have meals eaten by 4:45 so we can get to the field I wanted to get items that would be quick to grab when I didn't get supper done. It is expensive to buy food out for all of us, even the hamburgers at the park are $2.50.

Our schools are out the next two week because it looks like we have two cases of Swine Flu in our town. So, I ran to Sams to stock up. I did not save a lot of money, but this is one of those times where it is worth spending a little more to keep my home running more smoothly. I was really shocked when my total was $320.00 though!

I found a box with 6 rolls of Food Saver bags and it was almost $30 and I bought 3 pair of shoes, socks, and kitchen shears and spoons and 3 storage containers for food. Then, I bought the large package of toilet paper, milk, 2 cartons of hot pockets, breakfast sandwiches, waffles, french toast sticks, 100 calorie packs, baseball snacks of Cheeze its and Kool Aid coolers, 10 lb boneless breasts, hamburgers, jello pudding cups... I can't even remember it all. It sure does add up fast. But, now we won't go to the park hungry and buy M&Ms and coke, or stop for another pizza or buy Burger King.

If I am buying the sales with coupons I do a lot better to not shop at Sams. But when time is limited and I need to just get it done Sams is worth the small extra expense. So, are there any areas where you occasionally spend more to have more peace in your life?

I am trying to eat better so I hope to now be able to cook up the chicken breasts and make homemade biscuits and hot pockets and not spend so much again. But, until I can get back into freezer cooking I have some things on hand.

Yes, we have a few schools closed too. I haven't been out to the stores recently but imagine they're busy. I heard that the purel sanitizer was just flying off the shelves.

I only buy the big frozen Tyson chicken breasts from Sam's. It is the best and I don't mind the extra expense to have good chicken. No schools in our county closed yet but several in a neighboring county. We are just waiting. I don't think it is as big a deal as they say but the media always blows everything up, don't they?

We had stdents sent home yesteray, but no closing yet.......

Great ideas. We love Sam's to......mainly for quick trip things. We go about once a month for supplies for the orchard and business and such. We always need bottled water, Gatorade and snacks for the coolers.

Have a great day! Blessings!

I love how you handled that with your kids. What a clever way to do it!

My dad tried to raise us with manners and so he always had my mom tell him her order and he'd tell the waitress.

He had me tell one of my brothers and then my brother would tell the waitress for me.

When I began dating I would tell my dates and they would order for me, after marriage my husband would do it.

Somewhere along the way we dropped the habit though, don't remember why!
